Mitali Das
Last Updated: December 07, 2017Mitali Das is a Deputy Division Chief in the Strategy, Policy and Review Department of the IMF where she supervises the operation and extension of external balance assessment methodologies to frontier and developing economies. She is an author of the IMF's External Balance Assessment (EBA) methodology and was the Co-Chair of the IMF's 2015 External Sector Report. Previously, she worked on G-20 issues including the Mutual Assessment Program (MAP) and led the Fund's analytical work on the labor share of income.
Prior to joining the IMF, Ms. Das was an Associate Professor at Columbia University (1998-2006), Harvard University (2001-2002), Dartmouth College (2006) and the University of California at Davis (2007-09). Her research interests are Inequality, Technology, External Balance and Econometrics. Ms. Das received her Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
